All religions begin with Myth. This is even the case with Christianity, examples of which are are found in abundance throughout the Old Testiment; the God creating the world in seven days, and the creation of man (Adam and Eve), and etc. These stories have since been, in absolution, debunked by scientific proof to the contrary. Ie: The Earth was formed over billions of years, and, according to evidence which is based on homology, the evolution of man was an estimated 4 million year process.
Likewise, Myths of the creation of earth, mankind, and often the Gods themselves can be found in all ancient cultures, from Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and etc.
These Myths arrived during a time when mankind, although acknowledging and accepting (and worshiping) the existences of various Gods and Goddesses, had not yet spiritually evolved enough to understand that only here on earth are we bound to the limitations of beginnings and endings. It was thus inconceivable during this time that there could be inhabited Realms whereas the residential Beings simply existed - without beginning, or ending.
Therfore, the stories found within the many Myths, albeit far-fetched, were not intended to deceive, but rather as an attempt to explain and portray.
It is amusing to me that patrons of particular religions, such as Christianity, will dismiss other faiths as being frivolous and/ or without substance because they incorporate mythical stories - while at the same time remaining hypocritically ignorant of the fact that their own faith shares in the inclusion of like-wise Myths.
In closing on this subject, I must submit that although there may be fanciful Myths attached to Pagan (as well as other) religions, most Gods and Goddesses are, in fact - very much real . Unfortunately, proof of this is not a thing that one can serve on a silver platter... and expect it to be easily digested. But the 'knowing' is there for the taking. It only requires a devotion of study and a little faith. I can, however, offer steps, guidelines, and procedures for those who seek 'to know' - in the pages that follow.
